Development policies
We are developing in accordance with the Strategy of Kęty Group assigned to the Flexible Packaging Segment.
Our long-term strategy for the FPS was prepared during a period of major transformations on the market. It was during this time FPS requirements changing dramatically due to environmental pressures, focus on cost reduction, food safety and the subsequen legislative changes.
The pursuit of sustainable development makes it necessary to develop and introduce to the market new laminate configurations – mono-structures, characterized by lower weight and greater material homogeneity.
Despite the clear pressure currently being put on plastic packaging to be replaced with paper-based materials wherever possible, their position seems unquestionable.
Flexible packaging based on plastic films, like no other, perfectly protects packaged food while extending its shelf life, which ultimately prevents food waste.
The Flexible Packaging Segment focuses on activities consistent with current market trends, i.e. improvement of the manufactured laminates (thinner structures, higher material homogeneity, smaller overprint areas).
It is a dynamic process in which classic multi-material laminates are gradually replaced by packaging based on refined paper and homogeneous structures based on polypropylene and polyethylene foils. Thanks to investments made in recent years, FPS, as the market leader in packaging materials in the Central European market, has an optimally composed stock of machinery in relation to customers’ expectations.
Our recent investments in plastics processing (manufacturing of recyclable polypropylene and polyethylene films, including high-barrier films), combined with further development of paper refining technologies, have allowed the Alupol Packaging to consistently strengthen its market position.
