PET/PE

PET/PE – a universal solution for packaging

PET/PE laminate is one of the most commonly used packaging materials in the food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries.

The combination of PET and PE allows for the best features of both materials, and the obtained laminate is characterized by high strength, mechanical resistance, flexibility and excellent sealability. In addition, the PET/PE laminate ensures good barrier properties against moisture and grease. This material is widely used in packaging for fresh, dried and frozen products that do not require the highest barrier properties to oxygen and moisture.

ADVANTAGES

  • High strength and puncture resistance
  • High flexibility of the laminate, allowing adaptation to various types of packaging
  • Adaptable PE  – The PE can be adapted an – modified to the specific characteristics of the product (anti-fog systems, peel, anti-static additives)
  • Good chemical resistance – possibility to pack foods of different nature, without loss of taste qualities
  • Good barrier properties against moisture and fat

FEATURES

  • Options to modify  the laminate to a specific type of packaging machine
  • Good heat sealing properties over a wide range of temperatures (depending on the type of PE used)
  • Option of printing with both rotogravure and flexographic technologies
  • PET/PE laminates are characterized by high transparency, which allows for the aesthetic display of the product in the packaging

LAMINATE STRUCTURE AND TECHNOLOGIES USED

  • PE film production technology using the blowing method
  • Adhesive lamination technology
  • Rotogravure or flexographic printing
