BOPP/PPB

Recyclable BOPP/BOPP mono-laminate – an alternative to PET/PE structure
BOPP/PPB laminate is an example of using the versatility and unique properties of polypropylene within a mono-structure (PP content>95%). The presence of Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) in the structure provides excellent mechanical and optical properties. The use of blown polypropylene (PPB) improves the thermal resistance of the laminate, its heat sealing properties and barrier properties against moisture and oxygen. This laminate is ideal packaging for dry products such as rice, pasta, breakfast cereals, nuts and treats.
The laminate meets the criteria for recycling, which was confirmed by the certificate.

ADVANTAGES
- Very good mechanical resistance to puncture, tearing and stretching
- Good transparency and surface gloss
- Reduction of packaging weight compared to multilayer laminates
- Good chemical resistance – possibility to pack foods of different nature, without loss of taste qualities
- Good barrier properties to oxygen and water vapour
FEATURES
- Option of printing with both rotogravure and flexographic technologies
- Lower stiffness and higher flexibility compared to PET-based packaging
- Meets the targets of the circular economy
- BOPP/BOPP mono-laminates have a lower carbon footprint compared to PET/PE
- Good heat sealing properties over a wide range of temperatures
