PET/HBF

PET/HBF – versatile laminate for demanding products

PET/HBF laminates use a special type of film with a multilayer structure (HBF – high barrier films), which, thanks to the presence of copolymer resins and ethylene vinyl alcohol (EvOH) in its composition, is characterized by excellent barrier properties against oxygen and water vapour.

PET/HBF laminates are suitable for products requiring packaging with a high moisture and oxygen barrier, which allows for extending the shelf life and maintaining the aesthetic and taste values of products, such as cured meats, cheeses, raw meat, fish, ready-made products, snacks or spices.

ADVANTAGES

  • High strength and puncture resistance
  • High flexibility of the laminate, allowing adaptation to various types of packaging
  • Good heat sealing properties over a wide range of temperatures (depending on the type of PE used)
  • Good chemical resistance – possibility to pack foods of different nature, without loss of taste qualities
  • Excellent barrier properties against oxygen and moisture

FEATURES

  • Possibility to adapt the laminate to a specific type of the packaging machine
  • Ability to adapt the type of HBF to the specific characteristics of the product (anti-fog systems, peel, anti-static additives)
  • Possibility of printing with both rotogravure and flexographic technologies
  • Possibility to adjust the barrier properties of the laminate, depending on the type of HBF film

LAMINATE STRUCTURE AND TECHNOLOGIES USED

  • Blown film manufacturing technology
  • Adhesive lamination technology
  • Rotogravure or flexographic printing
