Packaging for chilled foods
In order to meet the requirements of the packaging market for fast-moving consumer goods such as fresh meat, cold cuts, cheese, fish, prepared foods (dumplings, croquettes, etc.), HBF9™ multilayer high-barrier films and laminates have been developed.
The production process of these films is carried out on extrusion blow moulding lines. The barrier properties of these films are ensured by the appropriate composition of the layers – PET, EVOH, PA, PP, LDPE, HDPE and modifying additives. As a result, laminates made using these materials guarantee an excellent barrier against oxygen, water and aromas.
The use of these materials for packaging fast-moving consumer goods in HFFS (Horizontal Form Fill & Seal) flow-pack packaging using MAP (modified atmosphere packaging) and TFFS (thermoform-fill seal packaging) thermoforming technologies guarantees customers the optimal shelf life for the products packaged in them. Lidding laminates (PET/HBF9™) may ensure antifog properties to prevent settling of water vapour, and their heat seal layer may be adapted to the specific requirements of the Customer.
TF thermoforming films are manufactured on the basis of PA and LDPE compositions with appropriate additives, in the thickness range from 60 µm to 150 µm. Our experience, machinery and modern testing equipment enable us to optimally select film parameters according to the packaged product.
